Setia ran Buildcheck as a proof of concept on two residential projects: multifamily townhomes and apartments. Across both drawing sets, Buildcheck caught 92 design coordination issues before construction.
The ROI analysis is modelled on an average project — RM 32.5M estimated hard cost and 168 sheets reviewed — and puts the benefit at RM 316,086 against an investment of RM 16,800: RM 1,881 per sheet.

Challenge
Without automated design review, errors propagate to construction sites as RFIs and change orders, causing schedule delays and budget overruns.
Setia set a clear bar for the proof of concept: achieve more than 10x ROI through quantified savings from prevented RFIs, change orders and time savings — using pre-agreed values for the cost and schedule impact of design errors.
Solution
Buildcheck reviewed the drawings for both projects with 200+ AI-powered checks across all major disciplines and drawing types. Every issue came back with a natural language description, visual clouding and a severity ranking, grouped by related issues and disciplines.
On the townhomes, 40 issues were flagged for action; on the apartments, all issues were flagged and tracked.
