Does Buildcheck replace our existing coordination review process?
No — it improves it. Buildcheck catches coordination issues that are easy to miss in manual review, letting your team focus on higher-judgment decisions. Think of it as a second set of eyes that runs before your coordination meetings.
What is the most appropriate time for a Buildcheck
Buildcheck AI drawing reviews are most often used at 50% CDs and above, and is often ran multiple times per project. That said, many use Buildcheck as soon as schematic design for it's cloud-based drawing collaboration tools.
How long does it take
Buildcheck turnaround times typically range from 2 days to 2 weeks depending on project size complexity. We put quality over latency for our customers and conduct expert-in-the-loop verification of outputs before we send it to our clients. A comparable manual review would normally take 6 - 8 weeks.
How do you handle false positives
Minimizing false positives is a core focus. Every review includes expert-in-the-loop verification — our team checks output results before they reach you. This is included by default, not an add-on that others will charge you for. The result is an actionable issue list, not noise.
How does pricing work?
Buildcheck charges on a per-sheet basis with volume discounts. You never need to pay for more than you need. Every review includes unlimited seats as part of the platform fee, so your whole team can collaborate without worrying about per-user costs. We start with a trial project too, reach out for more information.
What kind of checks do you perform
We perform over 300 checks across all disciplines and are growing. They fall into three categories: 1. Drawing Health: Missing tags, dimensions, sheet index matching, detail indicator references are correct etc. 2. 2D Clash Detection: Ceiling device clashes, pipes through columns, mismatching slab edges etc. 3. Omissions & Logical Rules: Missing power to pumps, under-rated doors in fire-rated walls, mismatching electrical panels between floor plans and single line diagrams etc.
What markup tools are available
Buildcheck includes markup tools so you can flag your own issues, annotate drawings, and coordinate changes — all within the same platform where AI-detected issues live.
Do you offer project analytics
Yes. Buildcheck provides a breakdown of issues and resolution rates by discipline and by person, giving project leadership visibility into coordination progress.
What is a Backcheck
After you have completed an initial review with Buildcheck, you can analyze your updated drawings to ensure that the previously flagged issues were resolved. Backchecks can help you rest easy by automatically checking to make sure the comments were actually addressed.
Do you offer drawing overlays
Yes. Buildcheck provides both automatic and manually adjustable overlays so you can see what changed between drawing revisions or compare related sheets side by side.
What integrations do you support
Buildcheck syncs identified comments as coordination issues or draft RFIs in Procore, with many more integrations on the roadmap including ACC, Fieldwire, Revizto, Trimble and more.
What types of drawings can Buildcheck analyze
Buildcheck analyzes 2D PDF drawings and specifications across all major disciplines — architectural, MEP, structural, civil, landscaping, low voltage, and more — as well as all drawing types including plans, elevations, sections, and details. Many alternatives are limited to only architectural and MEP.
Can my team collaborate on reviews
Yes. Buildcheck includes a full collaboration platform where multiple users can work on drawings simultaneously, write comments, tag team members on issues, and track resolution status. Best of all, is that you can invite as many people as you like, free of charge.
How is Buildcheck different from AI chatbots for construction
Most AI tools in construction focus on text-based Q&A over specs, RFIs, and submittals. Buildcheck is fundamentally different: our 300+ AI agents visually read and understand construction drawings to detect coordination errors before they become costly RFIs, change orders, or city comments.
What are Buildcheck's security standards
Buildcheck is SOC2 Type II compliant, one the of the most strict data protection and encryption protocols for enterprise software. We are audited annually and undergo penetration testing above and beyond SOC2 requirements to further strengthen our security posture.
How does Buildcheck use my data
Customers retain ownership of their data. Buildcheck may use anonymized data to improve our service offering.
Where is my data stored
Data is stored in the U.S. for U.S. customers and Canada for Canadian customers. Other international customer data is housed in the U.S. by default.
